Job summary

Dollar General seeks an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, customer-first store. Under the Store Manager's direction, you will supervise staff, merchandise presentation, and deposits, while handling stocking and cashier duties.

You'll assist with scheduling, training, safety, and compliance, ensuring stock integrity and loss prevention, and stepping in during the Store Manager's absence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year retail experience, with at least 6 months supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling, deposits, and cashier accountability is expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate the cash register.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise flow: receiving, stocking, displays, and planograms.
• Maintain accurate inventory and control damages and markdowns.
• Ensure financial integrity through cash handling and deposits; support store manager.
