Job summary

Goodwill Industries Southern New England Inc. is seeking a Retail Material Handler to move donated goods and assist customers in-store. The role involves loading and unloading trucks, sorting donations, stocking shelves, and preparing shipment paperwork.

Regular weekend, holiday and evening hours are typical. Candidates may be cross-trained for related duties and must follow safety guidelines in a busy retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, not required; and 1–3 months related experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Move materials using hand truck, carts, pallet jack, or other equipment.
• Assist donors by carrying donated merchandise from their vehicle into the store and assist customers with heavy/bulky purchases.
• Sort, price and grade donated goods for display and sale.
• Stock shelves, counters and tables and prepare inventory of stock as required.
• Prepare shipping documentation and ensure crates are labeled and secured for transport.
