Job summary

Goodwill Industries Southern New England Inc is seeking a Retail Material Handler to support movement of materials, assist donors and customers, and prepare donated goods for processing and display. You will follow manager directions, operate basic handling equipment, and ensure accurate labeling and inventory of stock.

The role may involve lifting heavy items, standing for long periods, and working weekends or evenings.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and safety notices.
• Basic math skills for counting and measuring stock and shipments.
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays and evenings as required.

Responsibilities

• Move materials using hand trucks, pallets, and carts.
• Assist donors and customers by carrying items to vehicles.
• Sort, price and stage donations for processing and display.
• Prepare shipping documentation and label crates for transport.
• Assist in loading goods onto Goodwill trucks for pickup or delivery.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow safety procedures.
