Job summary

Target offers a paid Stores Executive Intern program in U.S. stores. This 40-hour-per-week hands-on training develops you for the Stores Executive Leader role (Assistant Store Manager) over a defined period.

You will lead teams, drive guest experience, manage priorities, and learn store operations with guidance from mentors. Previous retail interest and flexibility to work varying hours, including nights and weekends, are preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous retail experience preferred, but not required.
• Strong interest in retail, leadership and team-oriented thinking.
• Learn and adapt to current technology needs.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude.
• Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Spend time on the store sales floor and backroom leading team members.
• Lead with your Executive Team Lead mentor and other leaders to understand roles.
• Lead through daily priorities (stocking shelves, safety, guest welcome).
• Provide performance feedback and coaching to team members.
• Participate in daily huddles and communicate priorities to the team.
• Support store leadership in achieving goals and delivering guest experience.
