Job summary

E&H Ace Hardware in Independence, OH is seeking a Department Lead to drive sales, maintain department organization, and support day-to-day operations on the sales floor. You will own performance, presentation and inventory for your department and lead by example while delivering outstanding customer experiences.

You will collaborate with store leadership, participate in seasonal resets, and flex your schedule to include evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Retail or customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to lead by example and work well within a team.
• Familiarity with retail computer systems, Microsoft Office, or Teams is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent service to every customer in line with the store's Customer First Sales Culture.
• Own performance, presentation and inventory of the assigned department(s).
• Answer questions, locate merchandise, and assist with in-store and online orders.
• Promote the Ace Rewards program and assist customers with signup.
• Maintain product knowledge and awareness of current promotions.
• Conduct cycle counts and maintain accurate inventory levels.
• Receive, stock, and merchandise products in your department(s).
• Ensure department signage is accurate and up to date.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization on sales floor, stock room, and outdoor areas.
• Open and/or close the store as needed and serve as a trusted keyholder.
• Monitor safety concerns and theft prevention measures.
• Collaborate with team and communicate with store leadership.
