Job summary

Micro Center in Cambridge, MA is seeking self-motivated Retail Computer Technicians. You will spend time at the service counter assisting customers with diagnostics and repair options, and also work in-store on device repairs and BYO builds.

Training pays $18 per hour, with post-training earnings based on productivity from $18 to $34 per hour. Strong communication and certification readiness are valued, with opportunities for growth and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; one-year related computer service/repair experience preferred.
• CompTIA A+ certification or Apple ACMT/ACiT certifications, or ability to certify within 90 days.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to multi-task.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person consultations and troubleshooting to customers at the service counter on a variety of computers and related devices.
• Recommend service solutions including data backups, antivirus, extended warranties, and subscriptions.
• Identify, diagnose, and document hardware failures or software problems on desktops, laptops, mobiles, TVs, and monitors.
• Assemble custom computers as part of the BYO sales team.
