Job summary

Micro Center, Inc. is seeking Retail Computer Technicians in Cambridge, MA to assist customers at the service counter and in-store repair shops. You will diagnose, repair, and advise on a range of computer devices and accessories while building customer relationships.

The role offers training paid at $18/hr with uncapped commissions potential after training, and a path to $18–$34/hr based on productivity. Flexibility to work shifts including weekends is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 1 year computer service repair or technical customer service experience preferred.
• CompTIA A+ or Apple ACMT/ACiT certifications, or ability to certify within 90 days.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to multi-task and adjust priorities.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Shifts include mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person consultations and troubleshooting at the service counter for computers and related devices.
• Recommend service solutions including data backups, antivirus, extended warranties, and subscriptions.
• Identify, diagnose, and document hardware or software issues on desktops, laptops, phones, TVs and monitors.
• Assemble custom computers for BYO sales team.
• Maintain certifications and stay up to date on products and vendor certifications.
• Handle cash till, process transactions, and keep the service area organized and stocked.
• Provide repair status updates to customers via face-to-face, phone, text, or email.
