Job summary

Micro Center is a leading computer and electronic device retailer seeking a service counter technician to perform in-store consultations and diagnose hardware or software issues across a range of devices. You will advise customers on data backups, antivirus protection, warranties, and service subscriptions.

The role requires strong communication, multitasking, and technical troubleshooting skills; expect shifts before/after store hours, including weekends.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; related computer service or technical customer service preferred.
• CompTIA A+ certification or Apple ACMT/ACiT certifications, or ability to certify within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person consultations and troubleshooting to customers at the service counter on computers and related products.
• Recommend service solutions including data backups, antivirus, extended warranties, and support subscriptions.
• Identify, diagnose, and document hardware or software problems on desktops, laptops, mobile devices, TVs, and monitors.
• Assemble custom computers for the BYO build-your-own sales team.
• Maintain certifications and vendor certifications and stay current on products and technologies.
• Handle cash till and customer transactions; keep the workspace clean and inventory accurate.
