Job summary

Micro Center is seeking self-motivated Retail Computer Technicians. Base pay starts at $18.81/hour with incentives to raise hourly rates up to $35/hour. If you love computers and want high earning potential based on productivity, Micro Center is the place for you!

You’ll split time between the service counter and the shop, diagnosing devices and guiding customers through repair status. A HS diploma and CompTIA A+ or Apple ACMT/ACiT certifications are preferred, with strong communication skills

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with related computer service repair or tech customer service experience.
• CompTIA A+ or Apple ACMT/ACiT certifications, or the ability to certify within 90 days.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to multi-task and adjust priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person consultations and troubleshooting at the service counter for computers and related products.
• Recommend service solutions including data backups, anti-virus, warranties and subscriptions.
• Identify, diagnose and document hardware or software problems on desktops, laptops, phones, TVs, and monitors.
• Assemble custom computers sold by the BYO sales team.
• Maintain certifications and stay up-to-date with retail products and technologies.
• Handle cash till, customer transactions, and keep a clean, organized work area with tracked inventory.
• Provide timely updates to customers via face-to-face, phone, text and email about their service events.
