Job summary

Micro Center, the nation’s leading computer and electronics retailer, is bringing a new Austin store online. We are seeking self-motivated Retail Computer Technicians, starting at $15/hour base pay with productivity incentives to raise hourly rates to $18–$35 plus SPIFFs.

You’ll split time between the service counter and shop floor, diagnosing and repairing devices, advising customers on service options, and keeping customers informed about repair status.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required or strongly preferred.
• Industry certifications are preferred and must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person consultations and troubleshooting at the service counter.
• Recommend service solutions such as data backups, anti-virus, extended warranties, and subscriptions.
• Diagnose and document hardware or software issues on desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and displays.
• Assist with building/custom pcs and repairs in the shop.
• Maintain clear communication with customers about repair status.
• Handle transactions and keep the work area clean and organized.
• Adhere to certifications and vendor requirements and stay current on products.
