Micro Center in Cambridge, MA is seeking Retail Computer Technicians to diagnose and repair devices and assist customers at the service counter, with opportunities to upsell service options and earn commissions.

The role requires strong communication, basic computer hardware knowledge, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs; training starts at $18/hour, with pay ranging from $18 to $34/hour after training. Shifts may include mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifikationen

• High School diploma or equivalent with related computer service repair or customer service experience preferred.
• CompTIA A+ certification or Apple ACMT and ACiT certifications, or ability to certify within 90 days.
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills, ability to multi-task and adjust priorities.
• Lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods; shifts include mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.

Aufgaben

• Provide in-person consultations and troubleshooting at the service counter for computers and related retail products.
• Recommend service solutions including data backups, anti-virus, warranties, and subscriptions.
• Identify and document hardware/software issues on desktops, laptops, phones, TVs, and monitors.
• Assemble custom computers with the BYO sales team.
• Maintain manuals, certifications, and stay current on products and technologies.
• Handle cash, transactions, and keep the work area clean with accurate inventory.
