Job summary

Micro Center is seeking self-motivated Retail Computer Technicians in Columbus, OH. Base pay starts at $15/hour with incentives to raise hourly rates to $18–$35 plus SPIFFs.

You will split time between the service counter assisting customers and the shop diagnosing and repairing devices. Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; one-year related computer service repair or technical customer service experience preferred.
• CompTIA A+ certification or Apple ACMT and ACiT certifications, or the ability to be certified within 90 days of hire; Apple certifications highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person consultations and troubleshooting to customers at the service counter on a variety of computers and electronics.
• Recommend service solutions including data backups, anti-virus, warranties, and subscriptions.
• Identify and document hardware or software problems on desktops, laptops, mobile devices, TVs, and monitors.
• Assemble custom computers for BYO sales in-store.
• Maintain certifications and stay up to date on products and technologies.
• Handle customer transactions, maintain a clean workspace, and track inventory.
• Communicate status of service events to customers via in-person, phone, text, and email.

Education
