Job summary

Woodforest National Bank is seeking a Banker to serve as a frontline ambassador and trusted advisor in Birmingham, AL. You will build and grow retail customer relationships by delivering exceptional service, proactive marketing, and accurate operational execution.

The role emphasizes ownership, service, community, and integrity as you engage customers, promote banking solutions, and support digital tools in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of relevant retail sales and/or customer service experience.
• Prior in-store retail banking experience preferred but not required.
• Willingness to accept coaching and feedback to improve performance.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work flexible or extended hours based on retail branch needs.

Responsibilities

• Take personal responsibility for delivering strong retail performance by identifying customer needs and recommending banking solutions.
• Achieve individual sales goals through proactive conversations, referrals, and marketing outreach inside/outside the branch.
• Resolve customer inquiries at first contact, using internal partners for timely resolution.
• Maintain operational excellence with accurate transactions and compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
• Explain complex banking solutions in a simple, understandable way.
• Deliver the Woodforest Experience with warm, personalized customer interactions every day.
• Engage customers to understand financial needs and clearly explain products, services, and digital tools.
• Provide dependable, efficient service while maintaining professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
• Support digital banking tools and platforms for a technology-driven customer experience.
• Build relationships with customers and community members, representing Woodforest as a trusted neighborhood bank.
• Participate in local retail marketing efforts to drive branch traffic and customer engagement.
• Collaborate with branch staff to support community events and promotions aligned with Woodforest’s mission.
• Uphold ethical standards by safeguarding customer confidentiality and complying with policies and guidelines.
• Demonstrate honesty and transparency in all customer and team interactions.
• Perform branch servicing duties including teller transactions, cash handling, balance, cash orders, vault activities, audits, and ATM servicing.
• Open and maintain deposit accounts and consumer loans with accuracy and compliance.
• Follow branch security procedures and adapt to additional duties as needed.
