Job summary

Family Dollar seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development in a fast-paced retail environment. You will assist with daily activities, help customers, organize merchandise, and ensure promotional displays are effective while upholding safety and company policies.

The role includes supervising associates, maintaining inventory and records, and supporting opening/closing procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Store management experience in retail is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Excellent customer service and organizational skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize merchandise and maintain seasonal areas of the store.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and maintain store records (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits).
• Maintain checkout area, stockroom, and sales floor to company standards.
• Supervise and develop Store Associates, ensuring a safe and respectful environment.
