Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities, organize merchandise, and help train and supervise Store Associates.

You will also help with opening/closing procedures, payroll & scheduling tasks, loss prevention, and maintain welcoming, safe store environments for customers and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and store communications related to activities.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash deposits and receipts), and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Keep the store clean and presentable (bathrooms, floors, trash).
• Other duties as assigned.
