Job summary

Family Dollar LLC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will help with daily store functions and ensure a welcoming shopping environment.

You will supervise and train Store Associates, maintain stockrooms and sales floors, and assist in opening/closing procedures while complying with company policies.

The role emphasizes safety, loss prevention, and delivering strong customer service in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and interpret directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties as needed.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits and receipts, and loss prevention
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure associates follow procedures
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and team
• Ensure store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, and trash removal
• Other duties as assigned
