Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily functions, help customers, organize merchandise, and help prepare the store for opening and closing shifts.

The role requires strong communication, capability to lift and move items, and a willingness to train and supervise store associates in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; ability to read and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and answer questions.
• Organize merchandise transfer from delivery to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives including payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits; maintain records.
• Maintain store cleanliness, fixtures, and promotional displays; ensure assets are protected.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, loss prevention, and record keeping.
• Supervise and develop Store Associates; foster a positive, safe environment.
