Job summary

Family Dollar seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store functions, help customers, organize merchandise, and backfill responsibilities such as opening/closing and compliance with directives.

You will help maintain promotional displays, assist in ordering, asset protection, and payroll-related tasks, while ensuring a safe, clean, and efficient store environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred; ability to read and explain operational directives.
• Retail store management experience preferred in grocery/retail environment.
• Must be able to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 55 lbs and extensive walking.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day store activities and operations.
• Help customers with questions and provide friendly service.
• Organize merchandise and transfer from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Follow corporate directives and maintain promotional displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, and handling payroll activities.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked stores and secure assets.
• Supervise and develop store associates under the Store Manager.
