Job summary

Family Dollar in Burbank, IL is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store activities, help customers, organize merchandise, and participate in opening and closing procedures to ensure smooth operations.

You will also help manage inventory, payroll and scheduling, enforce safety and company policies, and train store associates to deliver exceptional service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to provide friendly, helpful customer service.
• Experience guiding and coaching store team members.
• Familiarity with basic inventory and cash-handling processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise between stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and store displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise and processing damaged items.
• Record-keeping including payroll, scheduling, and deposits.
• Maintain clean, stocked, and organized store areas.
• Protect assets and ensure security of store cash.
• Adhere to policies, safety guidelines, and procedures.
• Help supervise, train, and develop store associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment for customers and staff.
• Other duties as assigned.
