Job summary

Family Dollar in Los Angeles is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with opening/closing, merchandising, payroll, scheduling, and ensuring compliance with company policies.

This part-time role requires a proactive leader who can maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming store environment while guiding associates and delivering excellent service to customers in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and payroll/scheduling
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure store assets including cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neatness
• Other duties as assigned
