Job summary

Family Dollar in Cicero, IL is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with merchandise handling, opening/closing duties, and ensure safety policies are followed while maintaining a friendly store environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Store management experience in retail preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and handle continuous standing/walking.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, process damaged merchandise, payroll and cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a neat, well-stocked sales floor and stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, respectful environment for customers and staff.
