Job summary

Big Lots is seeking motivated individuals to support our Stores as we provide essential products at great values to the communities we serve. As a Big Lots Assistant Manager you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to our customers and supporting the Store Manager with the overall operation of the store to achieve company deliverables.

You will assist with hiring, training, and development of store team members, support day-to-day store activities, and help ensure smooth

Qualifications

• Prefer prior retail and management experience.
• Effective communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Willingness to work flexible part-time schedule including weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist with hiring, training and development of store team members.
• Support store functions and day-to-day activities as directed by the Store Manager.
• Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Maintain store areas to company standards, including stockroom and sales floor.
• Direct hourly Team Members when the Store Manager is away.
• Manage freight flow and merchandise receipts.
• Meet or exceed productivity standards.
• Assist Store Manager in ordering and stocking all merchandise needs.
