Job summary

Big Lots is seeking motivated individuals to support our Stores as we provide essential products at great values to the communities we serve. As a Big Lots Assistant Manager you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to our customers and supporting the Store Manager with the overall operation of the store to achieve company deliverables.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail and leadership preferred.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Flexible, part-time schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and support Store Manager in daily operations.
• Assist with hiring, training, and developing store team members.
• Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Protect assets and cash handling, adhere to safety guidelines.
• Maintain clean, organized stockroom and sales floor per company standards.
• Supervise hourly Team Members when Store Manager is not present.
• Support store directives and freight flow, inventory, and merchandising.
