Ocean State Job Lot in Litchfield, CT is seeking a Store Area Supervisor to oversee daily store operations, merchandising and freight flow under a Team Leader. This role develops future leaders and encourages growth opportunities within OSJL.

Qualifications

• 1 or more years professional experience in other retail environments required.
• Prior customer service experience, training experience, and prior merchandise ordering, receiving, stocking, and maintenance experience in other retail environments is preferred.
• Computer skills (i.e., Google platform, including, but not limited to, Email, Sites, Slides, Drive, Docs, Sheets; and Qlik).
• Availability to work as needed by the business including nights and weekends.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Champion exceptional customer service for diverse clientele and foster a welcoming environment.
• Bridge the gap between customers and corporate customer service for effective resolutions.
• Promote company-wide customer initiatives, donations, loyalty programs, and promotions.
• Create effective work schedules for the assigned area.
• Provide guidance and support to the team to ensure task completion and a collaborative environment.
• Support training for store associates and growth across levels.
• Manage merchandise presentation and adherence to company guidelines.
• Maintain signage, backroom stock, and sales floor flow; verify pricing and report discrepancies.
• Handle packaways, returns, transfers, and recalls per policies.
• Uphold store safety and maintenance standards; assist with opening/closing when designated.
• Operate a cash register as needed and follow all company procedures.
