Ocean State Job Lot is seeking a Store Area Supervisor to oversee daily operations and merchandising for assigned areas, ensuring smooth freight flow and delivering an exceptional customer experience under a Team Leader. This role serves as a development path toward future OSJL leadership positions, encouraging growth and opportunity for the team.

Key responsibilities include guiding staff, creating schedules, supporting training, maintaining pricing accuracy, and upholding safety standards

Qualifications

• 1+ years professional experience in retail environments.
• Prior customer service experience and training experience preferred.
• Experience with merchandise ordering, receiving, stocking, and maintenance in retail preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service for diverse clientele in a welcoming environment.
• Bridge the gap between customers and corporate customer service, ensuring effective resolution.
• Promote company-wide customer initiatives (donations, loyalty programs, promotions).
• Create effective work schedules for the assigned area.
• Guide and support team to ensure task completion and a collaborative environment.
• Assist in training store associates to grow across levels.
• Manage merchandise presentation and ensure adherence to company guidelines.
• Maintain accurate signage, pricing, and backroom stock flow.
• Handle packaways, returns, and transfers per policy.
• Uphold store safety and maintenance standards.
• Supervise operations during openings/closings when designated.
• Operate a cash register as needed.
