Job summary

El Pollo Loco, Inc. is seeking a Shift Leader to guide the team and ensure smooth operations during your shift. You will drive exceptional service and fire-grilled experiences that keep guests returning while developing as a leader.

The role oversees daily restaurant operations, ensuring safety, inventory accuracy, and adherence to EPL standards. You will manage open/close duties, train staff, and support management in delivering great guest experiences.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; prior EPL SPECS certification preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of restaurant supervisory experience and leadership on shift.
• Pass EPL Food Safety Audit (FSA) class after hire.

Responsibilities

• Manage opening and closing procedures, security, and inventory checks.
• Ensure service speed, cleanliness, and adherence to QSC standards.
• Prioritize tasks, communicate breaks, and adjust staffing to sales volume.
• Train and support team on new products and procedures.
• Handle cash, deposits, and cash drawer audits; ensure policy compliance.
• Greet customers and assist with orders to meet expectations.
• Perform other duties to support restaurant operations.

Education
