Job summary

The Press Club Grill in Brookline, MA is seeking an Assistant General Manager to oversee front-end operations, ensure profitable service, and uphold standardized policies. The role emphasizes customer service, team leadership, and compliance with health and safety codes.

Responsibilities include hiring and training staff, promoting morale, resolving guest concerns, and coordinating daily workflows to optimize performance.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant experience required; previous management experience preferred; successful completion of progressive business management training program helpful
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
• Excellent customer service to treat guests like family
• Strong communication skills to train and motivate employees
• Strong time management skills and accuracy to deal with a variety of duties and prepare reports

Responsibilities

• May hire and train new staff or assist management with this process
• Promoting cooperative effort, a team spirit, and good morale among employees
• Resolving complaints from customers in a polite, friendly manner
• Performing daily inspections and periodic audits to check safety of equipment and to ensure food is cooked properly
• Ensures kitchen runs in accordance with health, safety, and hygiene codes; maintains a DOH score of 95 or better
• Coordinates and oversees day-to-day workflow of subordinate staff
• Assists with performance evaluations and employment actions as needed
• Assists Executive team via communication channels and supports extra volume or absences
• Performing other work-related duties as assigned
