Job summary

The Press Club Grill in Stamford, CT is seeking an Assistant General Manager to direct and oversee all restaurant activities, ensuring efficient, friendly service and profitable operations.

Responsibilities include hiring/training staff, promoting teamwork, resolving customer issues, and maintaining health and safety compliance. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and time management skills to manage daily operations.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant experience required; management experience preferred.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Excellent customer service to treat guests like family.
• Strong communication skills to train and motivate employees.
• Strong time management skills and accuracy to deal with a variety of duties and prepare reports.

Responsibilities

• May hire and train new staff or assist management with this process.
• Promoting cooperative effort, a team spirit, and good morale among employees.
• Resolving complaints from customers in a polite, friendly manner.
• Performing daily inspections and periodic audits to check safety of equipment and to ensure that food is cooked properly; addressing equipment maintenance issues.
• Ensures kitchen runs in accordance with health, safety, and hygiene codes; maintains a DOH score 95+
• Coordinates and oversees day-to-day workflow of subordinate staff.
• Conducts or assists with performance evaluations as requested by General Manager.
• Assists GM with employment actions according to company policy.
• Maintains contact with Executive team via email/Slack/text/call.
• Helps with duties of other employees during absences or high volume.
