Job summary

SONIC Drive-In is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the General Manager in daily operations, ensuring quality food, a clean environment, and a safe, efficient guest experience.

You will hire and develop staff, coach for performance, and maintain standards while working irregular hours, including nights and holidays. This role requires strong leadership and a commitment to guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Minimum six months of restaurant management experience (QSR) or one year entry level retail management experience.
• Effective communication skills; basic math, reading and computer skills.
• Ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to follow directions and multi-task; work with autonomy.
• Maintain appearance, uniform and hygiene standards as required by SONIC.

Responsibilities

• Assist the General Manager in daily restaurant operations to provide quality food in a clean, safe, and efficient manner.
• Hire, train, supervise, manage, direct, and develop team members to deliver a SuperSONIC experience.
• Ensure guest satisfaction and encourage repeat visits by delivering consistent service.
• Set clear expectations and provide continuous feedback to staff during shifts.
• Create an upbeat atmosphere that keeps the team motivated during rushes.
• Manage food/paper, labor and guest service controls while upholding safety and sanitation standards.
• Relentlessly comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
