Job summary

BBQ Holdings, Inc. is seeking an Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager in profitable restaurant operation, upholding the company’s mission, vision, values, and culture.

This role focuses on leading staff, ensuring safety and sanitation standards, and maintaining strong guest relations to drive guest loyalty and budgeted profits. You will oversee 20–50 non-exempt employees, manage shifts, and ensure adherence to policies while delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of managerial or supervisory experience.
• Valid driver’s license and car insurance required.
• Degree in Hospitality, Business, or Hotel/Restaurant Management preferred.
• Serve Safe Food and/or Serve Safe Alcohol certifications preferred.
• Certification through Management Training Program(s) required after hire.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to train, coach, evaluate, and discipline employees.

Responsibilities

• Increase guest counts and sales by developing guest loyalty through quality operation and staff development.
• Ensure proper facility/equipment management with preventive maintenance, energy conservation, repairs and safety/compliance.
• Recruit, hire, train, develop, retain, supervise, appraise, discipline, terminate and schedule employees for operations.
• Ensure staff training and development, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Supervise 20–50 non-exempt employees during shifts.
• Ensure health department and Quality Restaurant Evaluation audits meet standards.
• Analyze results and implement corrective action plans during shifts.
• Attend management, regional and company meetings; contribute to plans and objectives.
