Job summary

The BBQ Holdings, Inc. Assistant General Manager role supports the General Manager in operating a busy restaurant in Council Bluffs, IA, ensuring profitable performance and adherence to the company’s mission, values and culture.

You will lead team development, maintain high standards of service, safety and sanitation, and drive guest satisfaction. Responsibilities include scheduling, training, supervising 20–50 staff, controlling costs, and partnering with leadership to achieve budgeted profits

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of prior managerial or supervisory experience.
• Valid driver's license and car insurance required.
• Degree in Hospitality, Business, or Hotel/Restaurant Management preferred or related field.
• Serve Safe certification preferred; certification through Management Training Program(s) required after hire.

Responsibilities

• Increase guest counts and sales by developing guest loyalty and staff development.
• Ensure proper management of facility and equipment with preventive maintenance and safety measures.
• Recruit, hire, train, develop, retain, supervise, appraise, and schedule employees for restaurant operations.
• Train and develop staff and trainers; adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with health department and company audits; manage financial responsibilities.
• Supervise 20-50 non-exempt employees during shifts.
• Attend management and regional meetings; provide input for plans and programs.
