Job summary

The IHOP General Manager will direct the operation of an assigned unit, driving guest satisfaction, financial results, and staff development. You will work with team members to implement training programs, uphold SOPs, and ensure safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include managing daily operations, recruiting and coaching staff, controlling inventory, and delivering strong guest experiences while complying with regulations and company policies across the unit.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 2–4 years related experience or equivalent.
• Ability to read and speak English; communicate effectively with guests and staff.
• Ability to perform basic math and interpret business documents.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain professional relationships with IHOP employees and guests.
• Implement training programs for hourly employees to improve operations and guest experience.
• Execute annual financial, local marketing, guest service, and HR objectives per SOP.
• Manage restaurant floor, handle guest complaints professionally and promptly.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations for the unit.
• Recruit, train, and retain employees; conduct coaching and performance appraisals.
• Ensure food quality and proper presentation; maintain inventory and supplies.
• Maintain equipment, safety, cleanliness, and security per SOP.
• Develop and maintain a safety program and manage incident frequency.
• Oversee marketing promotions, reporting, and personnel files; perform other duties.
