Job summary

Bob Evans Restaurants is seeking a General Manager to lead daily restaurant operations, drive guest satisfaction, and manage profitability. The role requires strong leadership, coaching, and hands-on management of food quality, service, and safety.

You will recruit, train, and develop staff, balance labor and food costs, and ensure compliance with company policies and local regulations while delivering a great customer experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Leadership experience required in a fast-paced environment.
• 4–6 years in family, fast-food, or casual dining preferred.
• College or culinary schooling preferred.
• Alcohol service requirements per state regulations for manager roles.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily restaurant operations and staff, ensuring policy execution and systems implementation.
• Provide leadership, direction, and development to direct reports.
• Drive sales, meet goals, and manage profitability.
• Recruit, interview, hire, train, and evaluate employees; assign work and discipline accordingly.
• Cultivate a positive culture, engage employees, and mentor team members.
• Communicate sales performance and react to variances to management.
• Support category duties as needed and champion sales-building activities.
• Maximize table turnover, sales per guest, and profit margins.
• Address guest feedback and maintain quality food and service.
• Ensure safe operations, cost controls, and OSHA compliance.
• Manage labor and food costs; oversee inventory and schedules.
• Oversee cash controls, security, and financial reporting.
