Job summary

Sonic Drive-In is seeking a General Manager to lead the drive-in’s operations and drive a superior guest experience. This leadership role requires hands-on management of staff, performance, and guest service to ensure safety, cleanliness, and quality.

You will recruit, train, and coach employees, oversee scheduling, and drive cost controls while maintaining compliance with laws and company policies. A strong leader with communications skills is essential.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred: Advanced studies in business, restaurant management or related fields.
• Experience: 3+ years restaurant management (QSR preferred).
• Experience running a restaurant shift without supervision.
• Experience recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and managing employees.
• Knowledge of labor laws, health and safety, and basic accounting.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, train, manage, coach, lead, schedule, and discipline staff.
• Manage compensation levels per company guidelines and budget.
• Oversee operations to provide an optimal guest experience.
• Lead opening/closing duties and handle guest and employee issues.
• Plan and adjust food, labor, and inventory to maximize cost-control and quality.
• Lead team meetings and maintain drive-in records and reports.
• Develop and manage local marketing and business performance initiatives.
• Ensure maintenance of drive-in facilities and compliance with policies.
