Job summary

HMSHost is seeking an Assistant General Manager to tactically execute complex restaurant operations in a casual Dine or QSR environment. The AGM ensures the unit runs clean, staffed, and to high standards, using established policies for decision making.

You will oversee opening/closing, supervise associates, hire/promote staff, and monitor financial data to meet unit goals. The role emphasizes safety, compliance, and guest satisfaction in a varied schedule.

Qualifications

• Requires minimum of 6 years food and beverage, cash handling, and customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Completes opening, daily and closing procedures/checklists in accordance with company policies/procedures.
• Assists the GM/F&B Multi Unit Manager I in managing day-to-day activities of associates within a defined group of restaurants or points-of-sale.
• Interviews job candidates, makes hiring decisions for associates within the unit and promotes HMSHost as an employer of choice.
• Reads and understands financial and operational data and reports to monitor progress towards unit goals.
• Manages the day-to-day activities of associates within a defined group of restaurants or points-of-sale.
• Ensures compliance with all company policies and AB procedures.
• Assigns work tasks and schedules; ensures shifts are covered.
• Ensures staff take mandated rest breaks and meal periods.
• Maintains clean, stocked, and visually appealing display areas.
• Operates cash register and maintains cash security according to policies.
• Monitors wellness and safety procedures and reports safety concerns to the GM.
