Job summary

HMSHost in New York City is seeking an Assistant General Manager (AGM) to support branch management in running complex QSR or Casual Dining operations. The AGM ensures the restaurant is clean, staffed, and prepared for business, applying company policies to make sound decisions.

You will oversee opening, scheduling, hiring decisions, monitor finances, ensure food safety and guest service standards, and manage daily activities of the team.

Qualifications

• Requires a minimum of 6 years food and beverage, cash handling, and customer service experience.
• Requires a minimum of 4 years supervisory or lead experience in a Casual Dine restaurant or production kitchen.
• Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and policy documents.

Responsibilities

• Completes opening, daily and closing procedures.
• Supervises day-to-day activities of restaurant staff.
• Interviews candidates and participates in hiring decisions.
• Reads financial and operational data to monitor progress toward goals.
• Manages scheduling and ensures shifts are covered.
• Ensures compliance with safety policies and HACCP standards.
• Places orders, receives goods, and processes invoices.
• Maintains high standards of guest service and cleanliness.
