Job summary

FutureCare is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our nursing team in Baltimore. You will develop personalized treatment plans and manage respiratory care procedures for residents under medical direction, including ventilator support and airway management.

Qualified candidates hold Maryland licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner, with 1+ year of clinical experience, CPR certification, and strong communication in English.

Qualifications

• Maryland state licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical respiratory experience.
• Current CPR certification with recertification every two years.
• Ability to recognize and address psychosocial needs of residents and families.
• Strong English communication skills, written and verbal.
• Ability to lift at least 35 pounds.
• Ability to push, pull, and lift residents.

Responsibilities

• Accept and transcribe verbal and telephone orders from physician on respiratory therapy procedures.
• Initiate, monitor, manage, troubleshoot, maintain, and wean residents from mechanical ventilators.
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, resuscitator bag ventilation and chest compressions.
• Obtain Blood Gas Samples and perform chest physiotherapy.
• Perform pulmonary function testing, oxygen administration and inhalation therapy.
• Manage artificial airway, tracheostomy care, suctioning, and sputum induction.
• Provide education and in-service training to residents, families, and staff.
