Job summary

FutureCare is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide specialized care for residents, following physician orders and respiratory policies under supervision. The role emphasizes transcribing orders, ventilator management, patient assessment, and collaboration with the nursing team to support individualized treatment plans and safe care.

A Maryland license and CPR certification are required, with at least one year of experience.

Qualifications

• Must hold Maryland Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
• CPR certification with recertification every two years.
• Minimum 1 year of clinical respiratory experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (written and spoken).
• Must be able to lift at least 35 pounds and assist with patient handling.

Responsibilities

• Accept and transcribe verbal and telephone orders from physicians for respiratory therapy procedures.
• Initiate, monitor, manage, troubleshoot, and wean patients from mechanical ventilators.
• Obtain Blood Gas Samples and perform pulmonary function testing as required.
• Provide patient education and train staff on respiratory care protocols.
• Review physician orders and document ventilator settings, patient responses, and safety checks.
