Job summary

Qualifications

• Current licensure from the state of Maryland as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• Minimum of 1-year clinical respiratory experience.
• Current CPR training with recertification every two years.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English (verbal/written).
• Must be able to lift at least 35 pounds.
• Must be able to push, pull and assist residents as needed.

Responsibilities

• Accept and transcribe verbal and telephone orders from physician on respiratory therapy procedures.
• Manage ventilators, monitoring, weaning and related respiratory care for adult/geriatric residents.
• Perform blood gas sampling, chest physiotherapy, pulmonary function testing and medication administration.
• Provide education and in-service training to residents, families, and staff.
• Review orders, document procedures, and report resident status to supervisors.
