Job summary

FutureCare is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to provide individualized respiratory care to residents under physician orders and medical direction. You will participate in care planning, monitor ventilator settings, perform airway management, administer medications, and document responses to therapy with accuracy.

You’ll educate residents, families, and staff, and cooperate with the care team to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current licensure from Maryland as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• Minimum 1 year of clinical respiratory experience.
• Current CPR certification with renewal every two years.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Must be able to lift at least 35 pounds.
• Able to push, pull, and assist with patient movement.
• Recognizes psychosocial needs of residents and families.

Responsibilities

• Accept and transcribe verbal and telephone orders from physicians.
• Manage ventilators and wean residents as directed.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and pulmonary function testing.
• Administer aerosolized medications and oxygen therapy.
• Document care and resident responses to therapy.
• Educate residents, families, and staff.
• Report equipment malfunctions and safety concerns.
• Present shift reports to oncoming therapist and follow up as needed.
