Job summary

FutureCare in Maryland seeks a Respiratory Therapist to provide patient-centric respiratory care under physician orders. The role requires MD licensure, current CPR, and at least 1 year of clinical experience.

Qualifications

• Licensed in Maryland as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
• Minimum 1 year clinical respiratory experience
• Current CPR training with recertification every two years
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, written and verbal
• Must be able to lift at least 35 pounds
• Must be able to push, pull and lift residents

Responsibilities

• Accept and transcribe verbal and telephone orders from physician on respiratory therapy procedures
• Initiate, monitor, manage and troubleshoot ventilators
• Perform chest physiotherapy and pulmonary function testing
• Administer aerosol medications and oxygen therapy
• Manage airway care including tracheostomy and suctioning
• Document ventilator settings and patient responses to therapy
• Provide education to residents, families and staff
• Present shift report and communicate issues to supervisor
