Job summary

FutureCare in Baltimore seeks a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our nursing team and provide respiratory care per physician orders. You will manage ventilators, perform pulmonary testing, and deliver patient-centered therapies across adult and geriatric residents.

The role emphasizes documentation, education for residents and families, and collaboration with the care team. A Maryland license and CPR are required, with at least 1 year of clinical experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Maryland licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner is required.
• Minimum 1 year of clinical respiratory experience.
• Current CPR training; recertification every two years.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English with residents and families.

Responsibilities

• Accept and transcribe verbal and telephone orders from physicians for respiratory therapies.
• Initiate, monitor, and wean residents from mechanical ventilators and manage airway devices.
• Conduct chest physiotherapy, pulmonary function testing, and oxygen therapy administration.
• Document ventilator settings, treatment responses, and notify physicians as needed.
• Provide education to residents, families, and staff; participate in performance improvement.
• Review physician orders and ensure safe operation of equipment.
