Job summary

FutureCare in Baltimore, MD seeks a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive respiratory care aligned with physician orders and facility policies. You will support residents with ventilator management, airway care, and IV/medication administration as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The role emphasizes patient-centered care, education for residents and families, and adherence to safety and documentation standards within a busy nursing home setting.

Qualifications

• Current licensure from the state of Maryland as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• Minimum of 1-year clinical respiratory experience.
• Current CPR training with recertification every two years.
• Must show recognition of and attention to the psychosocial needs of residents.
• Ability to demonstrate good ability to communicate using English language in written and verbal form.
• Must be able to lift at least 35 pounds.
• Must be able to push, pull, and lift residents.

Responsibilities

• Accept and transcribe verbal and telephone orders from physician on respiratory therapy procedures.
• Initiate, monitor, manage, troubleshoot, maintain, and wean residents from mechanical ventilators.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and pulmonary function testing.
• Administer aerosolized medications and manage oxygen therapy.
