Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC seeks a Respiratory Therapist to provide patient-focused respiratory care during FT night shifts (36 hours/week). You will administer therapies, manage ventilators, document results, and collaborate with the healthcare team to achieve optimal oxygenation and outcomes.

Required NBRC RRT credential, state license, and BLS; BSRT preferred. For ED, 2 years critical care experience or equivalent is expected; new grads with RRT may be considered for some areas.

Qualifications

• Must be credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by NBRC and licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner/Licensed Respiratory Therapist in the state of employment.
• Basic Life Support for healthcare providers through AHA required.
• Graduate of an approved school of Respiratory Therapy; associate degree required; BS/BSRT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of oxygen delivery modes and equipment and conducts prescribed therapies.
• Administers therapeutic procedures and explains purpose, benefits, and possible effects.
• Performs diagnostic procedures as per policy.
• Initiates and monitors mechanical and non-invasive ventilators; aware of ICU duties and effects.
