Job summary

The role requires NBRC RRT credential, state licensure, and BLS certification; an associate degree is required with BSRT preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of Respiratory Therapy.
• Associate’s degree in respiratory therapy required; BA/BS or higher preferred.
• NBRC credentialed as an RRT and licensed as an RCP in the state of work.
• Basic Life Support for healthcare providers (American Heart Association) required.
• Advanced certification per facility/department.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge in modes of oxygen delivery and equipment; conducts prescribed therapeutic procedures.
• Administers and evaluates therapeutic procedures and performs diagnostic procedures as per policy.
• Initiates, monitors and maintains mechanical and non-invasive ventilators.
• Evaluates therapies with judgment and recommends plans of care and patient education.
• Documents therapy and results; communicates with the healthcare team.
• Performs blood sampling analysis and interprets results.
• Works independently in all patient care areas; proficient in EMR and interface with Respiratory Care.
• Follows safety guidelines and completes regulatory requirements and proficiency evaluations.
