Job summary

Advocate Health's Carolinas Medical Center seeks a registered respiratory therapist for night shift to provide advanced respiratory care and ventilator support. 36 hours per week with sign-on eligibility.

You will work in a high-acuity setting, utilizing EMR and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The role requires NBRC-credentialed RRT, current North Carolina license, and BLS; an Associate degree is required with BSRT preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be RRT credentialed by NBRC
• Current licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state of work
• BLS for healthcare providers through the AHA required
• Advanced certification per facility/department

Responsibilities

• Performs oxygen delivery procedures and manages related equipment.
• Administers and evaluates therapeutic procedures and patient response.
• Performs diagnostic procedures as per policy.
• Operates and monitors mechanical and non-invasive ventilators.
• Evaluates therapies and recommends care plans and education.
• Documents therapy and results in EMR per regulatory requirements.
• Communicates findings to the healthcare team.
• Responds to emergencies with respiratory care interventions.
• Performs blood sampling analysis and interprets results.
• Maintains proficiency with respiratory care equipment and safety guidelines.
