Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC seeks a part-time Respiratory Therapist to support varied shifts in the Respiratory Therapy Services department. The role requires NBRC RRT credential, state licensure, and BLS certification.

You will deliver oxygen therapy, manage ventilators, and collaborate with the care team to optimize patient outcomes. The position emphasizes independent practice across departments, EMR proficiency, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of Respiratory Therapy.
• Associate’s degree in respiratory therapy required (or equivalent experience). BA/BS or higher preferred.
• Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by NBRC; licensed in state of practice. Basic Life Support required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge in oxygen delivery modes and equipment; conducts prescribed therapeutic procedures.
• Administers therapeutic procedures and performs diagnostic procedures per policy.
• Initiates and monitors mechanical and non-invasive ventilators; understands critical care duties and effects.
• Evaluates current therapies and makes recommendations on plans of care and patient education.
• Documents therapy and results; communicates with healthcare team.
• Performs blood sampling analysis and interprets results to guide treatment.
• Works independently in all patient care areas; proficient with EMR interfaces.
• Follows safety guidelines and completes regulatory requirements and annual equipment proficiency.
