Methodist Hospital Westover Hills in San Antonio, TX is hiring a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT). You will assess, treat, and care for patients with pulmonary disorders, operating ventilators and respiratory devices per physician orders.

Ideal candidates have graduated from an approved Respiratory Therapy program, hold Texas licensure as Respiratory Care Practitioner, and are BLS and ACLS certified (ACLS within 90 days). NBRC credentials (RRT or CRT) are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program.
• Current Texas license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• NBRC credential as RRT or CRT (CRT grandfathered if applicable).
• BLS required; ACLS within 90 days of employment.
• 1 year of respiratory therapy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up devices such as mechanical ventilators and other respiratory care modalities per physician orders.
• Provide emergency care including artificial ventilation and CPR support as needed.
• Collect and analyze arterial blood gases and monitor patient response to therapy.
• Follow physician orders and evaluate type, mode, and duration of therapy.
• Monitor vitals and equipment performance; communicate changes with the care team.
• Consult with physicians, nurses, and health care professionals to manage patient plans of care.
