Job summary

Methodist Hospital Northeast is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT) to assess, treat, and care for patients with pulmonary disorders. You will oversee respiratory care modalities and ensure safe administration according to physician orders.

The role requires licensing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in Texas, NBRC credentials (RRT preferred or grandfathered CRT), and BLS/ACLS within specified timelines. Experience preferred and collaboration with the care team is essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program.
• 1-year previous Respiratory Therapy experience preferred.
• Must possess a current license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner from the Texas Medical Board to practice Respiratory Care in the State of Texas.
• Must possess a current credential as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the NBRC OR a grandfathered CRT credential.
• BLS upon hire and ACLS within 90 days of employment.
• PALS or NRP within 90 days if required by department.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up devices such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration, aerosol generators, and disposable respiratory care products.
• Provide emergency care, including artificial ventilation and CPR support.
• Collect and analyze arterial blood gases and respond with appropriate interventions.
• Follow physician orders for treatment and evaluate therapy requirements.
• Monitor patient responses via vital signs, ABG, auscultation, SpO2, and ETCO2.
• Consult with physicians and staff to manage the patient’s plan of care.

Education

Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program
