Job summary

Methodist Hospital Texsan is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT) PRN to assess, treat and care for patients with pulmonary disorders. You will administer ventilators, gases, aerosols, and other therapies following physician orders and department protocols.

The role requires graduation from an approved Respiratory Therapy Program, a Texas license to practice Respiratory Care, and NBRC credentials (RRT or CRT).

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program.
• 1-year previous Respiratory Therapy experience preferred.
• Must hold Texas license to practice Respiratory Care.
• NBRC RRT or CRT credential (CRT grandfathered if before 2002).
• BLS on hire; ACLS within 90 days of employment.
• PALS and/or NRP within 90 days if department requires.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up devices such as ventilators and gas administration per protocol.
• Provide emergency care including artificial ventilation and CPR support.
• Collect and analyze arterial blood gases and interpret results.
• Follow physician orders for treatment and assess therapy needs.
• Monitor patient responses via vitals, ABG values, and SpO2/EtCO2.
• Consult with physicians and nurses to adjust care plans.
